Where it started

We ran out of seasoning.
So we made some.

My wife and I ran out of the seasoning we usually kept in the cabinet, mid-cook, with nothing to do but figure it out. So we mixed something up from what we had on hand. Tried it again a few weeks later, tweaked it, added one more thing that made it right. That's the Original.

Further down the line, I started dealing with high blood pressure, so I went back through the recipe and reworked it. Less sodium, cleaner salt, and fenugreek worked in for its own benefits. We landed with significantly less sodium than a lot of the major brands, without giving up the flavor.

People kept asking for something with more heat behind it, so we built the Spicy version off the same base, same backbone, more kick. Both are still mixed in small batches, by hand, the same way that first jar came together.
